USC Falls to Army in OT, 85-77

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Kyle Wilson scored 30 points and Kevin Ferguson added 14 as Army beat USC 85-77 in overtime Saturday.
Wilson, the nation's ninth-leading scorer from nearby Mission Viejo, scored 26 points after intermission as the Black Knights (7-2) got their first win against a Pac-12 team since 1964.
Wilson and Larry Toomey opened overtime with 3-pointers to complete a 19-5 run and Army never trailed in the extra session. Toomey had 12 points and Luke Morrison 11.
Jordan McLaughlin led the Trojans (6-4) with a career-high 24 points and Katin Reinhardt had 17 points as USC had a four-game winning streak snapped, their longest streak since they won eight in a row in the 2009-10 season.
The Trojans led by 11 points early in the second half and by nine points with five minutes remaining before Wilson scored back-to-back baskets. Ferguson followed with a layup to make it 63-60.
Wilson tied it at 65-65 with a left-handed layup with 24 seconds left in regulation. The Trojans had a chance at the game winner but Nikola Jovanovic missed a jumper.
USC opened the second half on a 14-0 run. Reinhardt made a jumper, two layups and set up McLaughlin for a 3-pointer.
Army took a 36-33 lead into halftime behind Morrison's 11 points. The Black Knights twice led by eight points, including 29-21 with 4:05 remaining before the Trojans went on a 12-5 run late in the first half.
Wilson was 3-for-10 from the field and 1-for-6 from 3-point range in the first half. Army was 3-for-17 from beyond the arc.
It was the first meeting between the teams.

Army: Wilson has scored in double figures in 13 straight games dating to last season. He tied Jamie Uptgraft for ninth on Army's all-time list and passed Bill Hannon for 21st on Army's career scoring list. Army's only other win against a Pac-12 team was against Washington State in 1964. It is 2-11.
USC: McLaughlin set a career high in points for the second straight game. It was the fourth time this season that the Trojans faced a top-20 scorer. The others were Damion Lee of Drexel, D.J. Newbill of Penn State and Evan Payne of Loyola Marymount.
