Falyn Fonoimoana Declared Ineligible For 2011 Season

LOS ANGELES--Sophomore outside hitter Falyn Fonoimoana has been declared ineligible for the 2011 season, USC head coach Mick Haley announced today.

Fonoimoana earned Pac-10 Conference Freshman of the Year honors last year after earning a starting position midway through the season.

"We exhausted all of our resources in order to help Falyn retain her eligibility, " said Haley. "We have very high expectations of our student-athletes, on and off the court, here at USC."

No. 2 USC begins the 2011 season by playing in the AVCA Showcase (Aug. 26-27) in University Park, Pa. against No. 1 Penn State and No. 12 Minnesota.
