Top Recruit Daniel Lee Signs With Trojans

Daniel Lee from Valencia, Calif., ranked among the top men's golf recruits in the country, has signed a national letter intent with USC, head coach Chris Zambri announced on Tuesday (May 3).
"We are so happy that Daniel Lee has chosen to become a Trojan," Zambri said. "Daniel is a local kid who we have had our eye on since he was a very young player. He is now one of the finest players in the 2011 class and will be a welcomed member of our team.
"He is known for being an extremely hard worker. Not unlike many young players, Daniel's goal is to one day play on the PGA Tour. Unlike most though, Daniel is willing to work inordinately hard to achieve his goals. Coming in the fall of 2011 along with Anthony Paolucci, we feel we hit the lottery with this class."
Lee, who attends West Ranch H.S. in Valencia, first broke through in a big way on the amateur stage when he ran away with the 2009 Thunderbird Junior Invitational, finishing in a stunning 18-under. He tied for fifth at the 2010 Junior PGA Championship and recently played in the inaugural Junior Invitational at Sage Valley G.C. in Graniteville, S.C., an event that featured the world's top 50 amateurs who were 18 and younger and had not yet started college. Lee finished 19th while Paolucci was 14th.
