Tony Ciarelli Named AVCA National Player Of Week

USC sophomore outside hitter Tony Ciarelli was named the AVCA Division I-II National Player of the Week and the MPSF Co-Player of the Week today (Jan. 19) for his performance in leading the top-ranked Trojan men's volleyball team to victories last week over No. 10 UCLA and No. 3 UC Irvine.
He had 14 kills, 6 digs and 3 blocks in the 4-set win over the Bruins, which was USC's fourth victory over its crosstown rival in the past 5 meetings and fifth in the last 7.
He then had 18 kills while hitting .382 and added 5 digs to help the Trojans overcome a 2-0 deficit against the Anteaters in a rematch of the 2009 NCAA championship match.
