Asia Kaczor was named Sports Imports/AVCA National Player of the Week after USC beat No. 9 Cal and No. 3 Stanford. She was also named Pac-10 Player of the Week.

LOS ANGELES -- USC opposite/outside hitter Asia Kaczor has been named Sports Imports/AVCA National Player of the Week (Division I) as announced on Monday by the American Volleyball Coaches' Association.

Kaczor, a senior from Wroclaw, Poland, helped the Trojans improve to 8-3 in the Pac-10 and 19-3 overall with wins over No. 9 California and No. 3 Stanford last weekend. Against the Golden Bears, Kaczor had 24 kills and 17 digs to beat Cal, 3-2. In the 3-1 upset against No. 3 Stanford, Kaczor had a career-high 28 kills (7.00 kpg) and hit .328 for the match, adding five assists and 13 digs.

She becomes the fifth player in USC history to be named Sports Imports/AVCA Player of the Week and the first since Keao Burdine earned the honor on Nov. 17, 2003.

Earlier today, Kaczor was named Pac-10 Conference Player of the Week for the fourth time in her career. It was the 41st time that USC has received a Pac-10 Player of the Week honor.
