Men's Water Polo Finishes Fourth At NorCal Tournament

STANFORD, Calif. -- The top four teams in the nation finished in that order in second-day action Sunday at the NorCal Tournament as the No. 4 USC Trojans finished fourth after a 9-8 overtime loss to No. 3 Pepperdine in the third-place match. The Trojans were down 6-2 after three periods and scored six times to force overtime before falling to the Waves.
USC lost by a similar 9-8 score earlier in the day to No. 2 UCLA. The Bruins lost in the championship match, 7-4, to top-ranked Stanford.
The Trojans will return home to host Loyola Marymount on Friday (Oct. 19) at 5 p.m. at McDonald's Swim Stadium.
