USC Opens College World Series Against Florida State

The USC Trojans (43-18) will play against the Florida State Seminoles (51-17) on Saturday (June 10) at 11:30 a.m. Central time (9:30 a.m. Pacific) in the first game for both teams at the 2000 NCAA College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska. The game will be televised by CBS to a national audience. The Trojans are 5-1 all-time against the Seminoles. USC is 3-0 in CWS play against Florida State, including the 1970 national championship game where the Trojans won, 2-1, in 15 innings. The win began a streak of five straight national titles for the Trojans. USC defeated Florida State, 16-11, in the 1995 CWS in the last post-season meeting between the two schools.
