
USC Brings In Two Wins On First Day Of Tourney

SAN DIEGO - The top-ranked USC women's water polo team posted a pair of wins--17-6 over San Diego State and 13-8 over UC Davis--on the first day of the UC San Diego Invitational on Friday (Feb. 11).
Jennifer Durley scored 6 goals and Nina Wengst added 3 goals in the win over the Aztecs, the second in as many days for the Women of Troy over SDSU.
Aniko Pelle had 4 goals in the UC Davis game.
USC, the defending national champion, improved to 3-0 overall.
Nine of the top 10 teams in the nation are competing in the 3-day event, which concludes on Sunday (Feb. 13).
No. 2-ranked Stanford, No. 3 UCLA and No. 4 California all recorded 2 wins on Friday.
