No. 15 Trojans Rebound With Rout Of 49ers

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Sam Clancy and the Southern California Trojans overpowered Long Beach State.
The 6-foot-7, 240-pound forward scored 24 points to lead No. 15 Southern California to a 95-73 victory Saturday.
"Sam Clancy had a heck of a game. Dominated the offense, dominated the game from the inside," USC coach Henry Bibby said.
Brandon Granville had a season-high 21 points and Brian Scalabrine added 17 points to help the Trojans improve to 10-2.
Travis Reed led Long Beach State (7-5) with 19 points. Ramel Lloyd added 15 points and Ron Johnson had 13.
Clancy had back-to-back dunks during an 8-0 run as the Trojans took a 73-51 lead with 10:46 left. The 49ers cut it to 75-63 with 8:06 remaining, but could get no closer.
Granville scored six points to sparked a 10-0 run that gave Southern Cal a 25-15 lead with 11:56 to go in the first half.
The 49ers were unable to score in the final 3:34 of the first half, as the Trojans took a 47-33 lead. Scalabrine scored six of the final nine points of the half.
"They are right down the road from us and we knew they were going to be tough," Scalabrine said. "We lost to them last year and we needed to bring our 'A' game."
