Women's Volleyball Wins Season Opener vs. UNC

LONG BEACH, Calif. - Junior outside hitter Antoinette Polk tallied 12 kills and junior middle blocker Amber Oliver had 12 kills and five blocks to lead the No. 21 USC women's volleyball team to a 15-9, 15-3, 15-3 win over North Carolina in the season opener at the Long Beach State Tournament.
USC next plays host Long Beach State on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
Sophomore middle blocker Jennifer Pahl added 11 kills for USC, while junior outside hitter Kashi Cormier had a match-high 14 digs.
USC broke open a tight game one, which was tied at 8-8, by scoring four straight points to take a 12-8 lead. Junior outside hitter Janae Henry had six kills and five digs in game one alone and finished with nine kills and 10 digs.
