Women's Volleyball to host UMBC in NCAA First Round

LOS ANGELES - The USC women's volleyball team will face Maryland-Baltimore County in an NCAA Tournament East Region first-round match on Friday (Dec. 4) the NCAA announced on Sunday.
USC will also serve as host institution for both first and second-round matches on Friday and Saturday (Dec. 4-5). Texas A&M (24-4) and Temple (22-9) will square off in the first match on Friday at 5 p.m. and will be followed by USC (22-5) vs. Maryland-Baltimore County (22-6) 45 minutes after the completion of the first match. All matches will be held at the Lyon Center on USC's campus. Winners of the first-round matches will play on Saturday (Dec. 5) at 7 p.m.
The Women of Troy will be making their eighth consecutive trip to the NCAAs and 16th overall. USC, whose 22 regular-season wins is its most since having the same number in 1991, was ranked No. 9 in the latest AVCA Coaches Poll. The Women of Troy also finished second in the Pacific-10 Conference with their best ever Pac-10 mark at 16-2.
"This is our favorite time of year," USC Coach Lisa Love said, "and we are excited about the tournament. We know the road to the championship is challenging, but I like our draw and love how things have worked out. We are ready to play and look forward to it."
