Women's Volleyball Takes Second at Bankers Classic

STOCKTON, Calif. - The USC women's volleyball team took second place at the Bankers Classic over the weekend, falling to host Pacific, 5-15, 15-9, 13-15, 15-8, 16-14, in the final on Saturday.
The Women of Troy (22-5) ended the regular season with the loss. In the first round, USC beat Houston, 15-11, 15-11, 15-8.
Senior middle blocker Jasmina Marinkovic and senior outside hitter Jennifer Kessy made the All-Tournament first team.
Kessy had 29 kills and 21 digs against Pacific in the final, while Marinkovic had 29 kills and 11 digs. Sophomore outside hitter Antoinette Polk had 21 kills and 11 digs.
Six players had double-figure digs for USC, which had 104 overall. USC also had 114 kills to Pacific's 89, and outhit the Tigers .296-.289.
In the first-round match, Marinkovic tallied 28 kills and five blocks and sophomore outside hitter Janae Henry had 10 kills.
The Women of Troy outhit the Cougars, .275 to .157.
