Women's Volleyball Sweeps Arizona

LOS ANGELES - The No. 11 USC women's volleyball team swept Arizona in a Pacific-10 Conference match, 15-9, 15-11, 15-13 on Friday (Nov. 6) in front of 735 at the Lyon Center and a Fox Sports Network audience.
USC improved to 16-4 overall, 11-2 in the Pac-10. Arizona dropped to 18-5, 9-5.
The Women of Troy were led by senior middle blocker Jasmina Marinkovic's 19 kills, 13 digs and five blocks and senior outside hitter Jennifer Kessy's 18 kills, six digs and five blocks. Sophomore outside hitter Janae Henry also contributed nine kills and 11 digs, while sophomore outside hitter Antoinette Polk had a season-high-tying 15 digs.
The Wildcats were led by senior middle blocker Keisha Johnson Demps, who posted a match-high 21 kills and seven digs.
Senior setter Janice Mounts became USC's career assist leader after her fifth assist, breaking the previous record of 3,691 set by Christine Brigman in 1989. Mounts now has 3,734 carweer assists.
USC next faces Arizona State on Sunday (Nov. 8) at 1 p.m. in the North Gym. The Women of Troy are 34-10 in the all-time series with Arizona State and have a five-match winning streak.
