Women's Volleyball Falls to Florida in NCAAs

LOS ANGELES - The USC womens volleyball team fell to Florida, 15-13, 12-15, 15-9, 15-9, in an NCAA Tournament East Region semifinal match at the O'Connell Center in Gainesville, Fla., in front of 2,581 on Thursday night.
USC finished the season at 24-6 with its most wins since 1985. Florida improved to 34-2.
The Women of Troy were led by senior middle blocker Jasmina Marinkovic's 22 kills and 11 digs and senior outside hitter Jennifer Kessy's 14 kills and 17 digs. Senior setter Janice Mounts had 53 assists and 17 digs. Florida was led by Jenny Manz's 19 kills and 12 digs.
Florida outhit USC, .200 to .163, and outblocked the Women of Troy, 12 to 10.
USC led 12-8 in Game 1, but Florida rallied to take the 1-0 lead. The Women of Troy evened the match with a strong showing in Game 2, but couldn't stop the Lady Gators in Games 3 and 4.
This marks the fourth consecutive year that USC fell in the NCAA regional semifinals.
