CORVALLIS, Ore. - The USC women's volleyball team swept the Oregon schools with a 15-5, 15-8, 15-6 win over Oregon State on Sunday.
USC improved to 14-4 overall and 9-2 in the Pacific-10 Conference. Oregon State suffered its ninth loss in its last 10 matches.
"USC's got a good team with a lot of experienced players, and those experienced players were performing at a high level today," Oregon State Coach Jeff Mozzochi. "We played inconsistently again. We play in three- or four-point spurts, and in between we are giving teams too many easy opportunities."
USC hit .402 with 52 kills. The Beavers struggled all afternoon, hitting just .125 with only 26 kills on the match.
Jasmina Marinkovic posted a match-high 15 kills while hitting .500 for the Women of Troy, and Jennifer Kessy also added 11 kills for USC.
OSU's 26 kills marked a season low, and it was also the first time this season that no Beavers recorded double-figure kills. Selina Scoble hit .500 with 8 kills and just one error in 14 attempts to lead OSU.
The Beavers never led in the match and managed just two ties, 2-2 and 4-4, early in game two.
USC broke the tie by going on an eight-point run that secured the lead, and the Women of Troy then opened up the third game with a quick 11-0 lead.
USC travels to UCLA for a match on Friday (Oct. 30) at 7 p.m.
