COACH JODY RUNGE QUOTES
"I think it's very difficult to get up emotionally after a big game like the other night. We just had trouble scoring on offense and they did a great job dribbling and throwing things up there that went in consistently. We knew they would be a great defensive challenge for us. They're very athletic. It's just a real tough night and we're glad to get the win and we're going to have to regroup and get better."
"We fouled way too much. We knew it would be a challenge in man-to-man defense to defend their quickness because we can't match their quickness all over the floor."
"I think I have to give a lot of credit to those five who were in there in the stretch run. I think experience with Lisa and Tash and Nicole in the guard spots was huge for us. The rebounding and blocking out with Angelina pulling the rebounds and Brianne scoring at the other end, that was huge. Those five did a great job of settling down and executing."
USC HEAD COACH CHRIS GOBRECHT QUOTES:
USC'S DEFENSE: "The thing that we are excited about is that we found a way to defend Oregon without fouling. That was a big emphasis for us going into this game. How much they draw fouls is a huge part of their offense. Our team played well. If Tiffany (Elmore) would have been hitting, who knows what would have happened."
ON USC REBOUNDING: "The only thing that we didn't do well tonight was rebound. However, we did force a lot of turnovers, we just need to get some players."
ON THE CROWD: "I like playing at Mac Court. I thing it is a great atmosphere for women's basketball. I told our young players that they are going to play for a Pac-10 title someday and they need to learn to play at Mac Court." "When Oregon did good and the crowd got loud, we manage to remain calm and focused."
