2026 SEASON
• Scored 15 goals and eight assists in her sophomore season
• Drew 24 exclusions and grabbed 21 steals
• Had back to back games with a hat trick against Biola and San Diego State
• Went 2-for-2 against UC San Diego at the Triton Invitational
• Recorded two points and drew three exclusions versus Villanova
• Scored twice in the NCAA Tournament and added three steals and two field blocks
• Earned MPSF All-Academic and All-Big Ten Academic honors
2025 SEASON
• Scored 15 goals as a true freshman
• Scored in eight games with multiple-goal outings in three games
• First career goal was in her USC debut vs. Biola on Jan. 18
• Set career high with four goals vs. Biola on Feb. 21
• Scored one goal at the MPSF Tournament and was a member of USC’s NCAA Tournament roster
NATIONAL TEAMS:
• A member of the U.S. Youth National Team in 2023-24.
• Competed with the U.S. Women’s Cadet National Team at Worlds in 2022.
HIGH SCHOOL: While at Orange Lutheran High, won CIF Open Division Championships two years in a row in 2023 and 2024… Was the 2024 OLu Female Athlete of the Year… Won Junior Olympics in 2022 and 2023 with club SET… Also played club for Admiral Water Polo, Laguna Beach Water Polo, North Irvine and Legacy.
PERSONAL: Umeda is majoring in public relations and advertising… Parents are Marc and Yolanda… Biggest sports hero is her dad, who introduced her to water polo… Has one sibling: Kai… Enjoys spending time with family, shopping and going to the beach in her free time… Has always wanted to go skydiving… Would like to travel the world after graduation… Born August 21, 2006.
