Jordan Schrotenboer, an All-American swimmer with experience as an NCAA collegiate head coach as well as recent work as an assistant at a top-level program, was named a USC men’s and women’s swimming and diving assistant coach on July 11, 2018.
Schrotenboer comes to USC after a year as a volunteer assistant Coach at North Carolina State where he helped the Wolfpack men’s squad win five NCAA titles in March en route to a fourth-place finish. North Carolina State’s women’s squad finished 18th and featured four All-Americans.
Schrotenboer, a 15-time NCAA Division II All-American at Grand Valley State, arrived at Raleigh after two seasons as the head coach at King University in Bristol, Tenn.
In two seasons (2015-17) as the King University Head Coach, Schrotenboer’s swimmers broke 35 event records a total of 103 times. His men’s squad improved its conference team scores by over 300%, his women by 64%.
Schrotenboer served as an assistant coach at East Grand Rapids (2014-15) after three years as an assistant at Calvin College (2012-15) in Grand Rapids, Mich., where he helped develop numerous NCAA Division III All-Americans as well as conference champions.
He began his coaching career as a graduate assistant coach at Iowa Lakes C.C. in 2011-12 after graduating from Grand Valley State with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Physical Education-Sports Leadership in 2011. He helped lead the Lakers to a pair of Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championships and was a team captain. He also earned a Master’s in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Iowa State.
