Coming from North Park University in Chicago, Ill., Sarah Tinsley was head coach of the women's rowing team for two seasons
"Meeting Sarah during my tenure at Indiana University I was struck by her professionalism and her natural rowing ability as a student-athlete," said Adam. "As I have tracked her coaching career, I have continued to be impressed with how these qualities have remained and grown in each position she has taken. Her enthusiasm for coaching and all the details involved with operating a team make her the perfect fit for USC Women's Rowing family."
Before coaching at North Park, she was the Head Women's Novice Coach at Washington University in St. Louis. She was also the Head Novice Girls' Coach for the St. Louis Rowing Club, a local junior program.
From 2011-14, Tinsley served as the Head Novice Girls' Coach and Varsity Boys' and Girls' Assistant Coach at Artemis Rowing in Oakland, Calif. She helped lead both the boys' and girls' lightweight crews to the 2014 Youth Nationals. In addition, she was a primary coach of adult sculling and served as a team administrator for Artemis where she was responsible for program development, registration, regatta logistics and athlete recruitment.
A Level II USRowing Coach, Tinsley served as a volunteer Assistant Rowing Coach of the Indiana University Women's Rowing team from August 2010 through May 2011 after her own successful rowing career for the Hoosiers. As a student-athlete, she stroked an all-senior V4+ as a freshman and stroked the V8+ at the 2010 Princeton Chase. Tinsley, a team captain from 2004-06, was the recipient of the Big Ten Conference Sportsmanship Award in 2009 and earned Most Valuable Rower honors in 2007.
