THIS SEASON:
Seiko Onoue, a 2005-2006 senior, has continued to be a valuable member of the team, providing leadership and solid play for USC. SUMMER OF 2005:
Seiko played in four summer tournaments, posting rounds of 74 at both the U.S. Women[apos]s Pub Links Qualifying and the U.S. Women[apos]s Amateur Qualifying. 2004-2005:
Onoue played in six tournaments as a junior and had a stroke average of 78.33 ... Her tie for 17th (235) at the Anteater Invitational was a season best while her 73 at the Northrop Grumman Challenge was a season low. 2003-2004:
Onoue transferred in to USC from Pepperdine and played in three tournaments for the Women of Troy ... She had a stroke average of 81.38 ... Her best finish was a tie for seventh at the 36-hole CSU Cougar Invitational, where she shot 157. PEPPERDINE:
Onoue played in four tournaments for the Waves as a 2002-2003 freshman ... She had a stroke average of 80.80 and a low round of 75 ... Her best finish was at the Spartan Invitational where she shot 233 to tie for 40th. HIGH SCHOOL:
Onoue prepped Sunny Hills High in La Habra, Calif., where she was a teammate of current USC golfer Irene Cho ... She played for a 1999 squad that finished in the top 10 at the CIF finals ... Her notable junior golf accomplishments include a top five finish at the 2001 AJGA Lucent Girls tournament and a top 25 finish at the 2001 AJGA Rolex Tournament of Champions ... She won the 2002 Spaceport title and the 2002 Junior Tournament of Champions ... She was the 2002 Student Body President at Sunny Hills ... She also attended the David Leadbetter Golf Academy, where she was named the 2002 Player of the Year and won the 2001 Most Improved Swing award ... She also received the 1999 Sportsmanship Award from the Long Beach Junior Golf Association. PERSONAL:
Born on Aug. 5, 1984, Seiko is a psychology major at USC ... She enjoys helping others and actively participates in the Joint Educational Project (JEP) at USC to help underprivileged children with their reading and study skills ... She also volunteers at homeless shelters, preparing food for the needy. CAREER NOTES:
