Park and Silverstein Earn Big Ten Honors
June 03, 2026 | Women's Golf
Park and Silverstein were instrumental in one of the most successful seasons in program history.
ROSEMONT, Ill. — The USC Women's Golf Team earned more recognition as Catherine Park was named the Big Ten Player of the Year and Head Coach Justin Silverstein earned Big Ten Coach of the Year, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday, June 3.
This is the first conference player of the year award for Park, while Silverstein has now been named conference coach of the year three times across two different leagues.
Capping off one of the most successful careers in program history, Park leaves USC with five career wins — tied for the third-most all-time — and is USC's career leader with a 70.40 career stroke average, 30 top-10 finishes, 40 rounds in the 60s. Eighteen of those rounds in the 60s came this year, which was the most in a single season in program history. The four-time All-American won her final collegiate tournament at the Alice and John Wallace Women's Golf Classic, plus she led the team with 12 top-25 finishes and nine top-10 finishes. Earlier this month, she ended her career with a fourth-place finish at the NCAA Championships for her third-career top-five finish at NCAAs.
Silverstein led the Trojans to one of the most successful seasons in program history. A mainstay in the top five of the national rankings, the Trojans won eight titles— the second-most in program history — and went on a historic seven-tournament win streak spanning from February to May. Three different Trojans were responsible for five different individual titles, including four wins from Jasmine Koo, who became the program's all-time wins leader. USC also hosted and won its inaugural GameAbove Invitational, which featured 11 teams competing at the Trojans' home clubhouse at Rolling Hills Country Club. During the postseason, USC won the program's NCAA-leading 16th regional title, its first Big Ten title and an NCAA runner-up finish in the program's second appearance in the title match in four years.
