India Otto enters her first season as coordinator of player engagement for the Women of Troy.
"We have championship aspirations in our program, and I’ve been around enough winning to know that culture and success is created and defined by the PEOPLE who make up your program,” Gottlieb said. "So when I had the chance to keep Otto as a part of our day-to-day operation with the creation of this role, I jumped at the opportunity. She will impact our players in a positive way as they navigate the student-athlete life on this marvelous campus; but she will also continue to enhance the culture of our program as we aim to set the standard in the women’s college basketball."
Otto played five seasons at USC, earning her undergraduate degree in journalism and a master’s in studies in law in 2024. A regular on academic honor rolls, Otto shined as a 3-point threat on the floor and a constant source of knowledge and enthusiasm for her teammates on the bench.
Otto’s role as coordinator of player engagement adds another layer of support for USC’s players, with particular focus on incoming freshmen and transfers in their transitions to campus life. She will be active in the team’s community engagement and service involvement, and will assist with oversight of practice players and team managers. In her position, Otto also will be responsible for fostering a supportive and engaging environment for student-athletes, with a focus on their holistic development beyond the court. Her position plays a vital role in enhancing the student-athlete experience by providing mentorship, guidance and resources to ensure players are actively engaged within the team, in their academics and on campus.
"I am so excited to be joining the staff this season and this opportunity to apply the valuable skills I’ve learned while being a student-athlete here at USC,” Otto said. “I’m looking forward to helping mentor, support and guide the team on the court, in their academics and on campus. USC is the best university in the world, and I am eager to help USC women’s basketball reach our full potential and achieve the ultimate goal of a national championship."
