2024: Stevenson earned All-America honors by winning the NCAA long jump title with a PR leap of 26-11.75/8.22 (+0.8) in his final attempt…his jump moved him into a third-place tie on USC's all-time list with Larry Doubley (1977), who was the last Trojan to win the event at the NCAA Championships (with that jump)… Stevenson entered the finals in seventh place. He became the fourth Trojan to win the NCAA outdoor long jump title (Al Olson, Randy Williams, Doubley and Stevenson) and he and Doubley have the longest jumps ever by a Trojan in the finals. He placed second in the long jump with a mark of 25-1.74/7.66 (+0.1) on May 10 and third in the 100m dash with a PR of 10.13 (+0.5) on May 12 at the Pac-12 Championships…his 100m time moved him to tied for 10th on USC’s all-time list. Stevenson also ran the third leg on USC’s winning 4x100m relay which posted a time of 38.84. He won the long jump (25-7.50) and was second in the 100m (10.33) at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet on April 28. Stevenson won the long jump with a jump of 26-5.00/8.05m (+0.0) at the Mt. SAC Relays Elite competition on Aug. 20...that same day he also ran a leg on USC’s 4x100m relay which ran the eighth-fastest time in school history of 38.77 which won the Mt. SAC Relays Elite race. He competed in four indoor meets, posting a personal-best winning long jump of 26-1.00 (7.95m) at the Spokane Sports Showcase on Jan. 12…that jump moved him to fifth on USC’s all-time indoor long jump list. He also posted an indoor 60m PR of 6.61 to win at the Razorback Invitational on Jan. 27, which moved him into a ninth-place tie on the Trojans’ all-time list.
2023: Stevenson earned second-team All-America honors in the long jump by placing 10th with a jump of 25-6.75/7.79m (+1.0) at the NCAA Championships on June 7…he was second among all freshman jumpers at the NCAA Championships. He set his outdoor long jump PR of 26-1.00/7.95 (-1.4) to place third at the Mt. SAC Relays Elite competition on April 15…that jump moved him to ninth on USC’s all-time list. He jumped 26-6.758.08m (+4.2w) to place second at the Pac-12 Championships on May 13. Stevenson won the long jump at the Trojan Invitational on April 8 with a jump of 24-10.00/7.57m (+0.0). He set his triple jump PR of 49-3.50/15.02m (+1.6) to take second in the event at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet on April 30. During the indoor season he set a PR and USC freshman record with a leap of 25-3.45//7.70m at the Razorback Invitational on Jan. 27. He also ren a 60m PR of 6.74 at the Cougar Classic on Jan. 13.
HIGH SCHOOL: Stevenson, from Temecula, Calif., is a 2022 graduate of Great Oak HS in Temecula, Calif. He has bests in the long jump of 24-9.50 and in the triple jump of 48-10.50. Stevenson placed second in the triple jump and third in the long jump at the 2022 CIF state championships. He won the 2022 Southwestern League 100m, long jump and triple jump titles.PERSONAL: JC was born June 2, 2004 in Newport Beach, Cali…His parents are Capucine Walls and Cecil Stevenson, and JC is one of nine siblings…Enjoys playing football, basketball and all sorts of other sports in his free time…Lists NBA icon Lebron James as his biggest sports hero…Aspires to be a business owner… He is majoring in Business.Â
