Bio
AT USC:
Christy Ambrosini begins her third season with the USC cross country team...2010: Redshirted in in 2010 following hip surgery to repair a torn labrum in May of 2010...2009: Had a strong first season running cross country for USC despite some injuries which limited her action...It was especially impressive since it was her first time ever running cross country...Began her career with a bang by leading all Trojan runners and placing 14th overall with a time of 23:36.50 at the CSUF Jammin Invitational on Sept. 9...Could not compete again until the Vanguard Invitational (5K) on Oct. 10, where she was USC[apos]s eighth runner with a time of 18:49...Was USC[apos]s second finisher and eighth overall with a time of 18:36 at the Titan Invitational on Oct. 24...She did not run at the Pac-10 Championships, but when teammate Christine Cortez was injured and could not compete at the NCAA West Regional (6K), Ambrosini got the nod and responded with a time of 23:42.92 which was good for fourth among Trojan runners.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Ambrosini is a 2009 graduate of Long Beach High in Lido Beach, N.Y....She ran varsity track for three seasons and was an All-County selection...Her best time in the 1500m was 4:39...Was a National Honor Society member.
PERSONAL:
Christy was born on May 6, 1991 in New York, NY...Her father is a fireman and is one of those who responded to the call on 9/11...Lists her biggest sports heroes as Misty May Treanor and Steve Prefontaine...Mexican food is her favorite...Some day would like to visit Fiji...Is considering a career in physical therapy.
