Bio
THIS YEAR:
Junior Clayton Rule will begin his second season competing in the distances for the Trojans.
2015:
Rule competed in the distances during his first season as a Trojan setting a new personal record in every event. In his first meet of the season, the Rossi Relays, Rule set a PR in the 3000m with a time of 9:00.73. He ran the 800m at only one meet, the Ben Brown Invitational, and posted a new personal best of 2:02.00. Just one week later, he set another PR in the 1500m run at the Trojan Invitational with a time of 4:07.13. He was the Trojans only 5000m runner, and once again, set a new PR at the Beach Invitational with a time of 15:29.40.
BEFORE USC:
Spent one season at Cuyamaca Community College where he earned the Presidential Award.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Rule graduated from Valhalla High in San Diego, Calif. in 2013 with honors. He was the MVP on the cross country team and earned the Most Improved Award in Track and Field. He won the 800m race at the Grossmont-Valhalla Dual Meet with a high school best of 2:02.65.
PERSONAL:
Clayton was born on March 27, 1995 in San Diego, Calif...His parents and Claire and Jeffery Rule and he has one brother, Trent, who also runs track at USC...His cousin Taylor Carroll is in grad school at USC and ran on the USC cross country and track and field teams. His hobbies include golf, snowboarding, hiking, tennis and any adventure sports...Clayton is a Business Administration major at USC's Marshall School of Business and was awarded a place on the Dean's List for the Spring 2015 semester...He is a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity... His sports hero is J.J. Watt... He would like to travel to London.
