2021-22 SEASON: Salma Ewing’s senior campaign included All-American honors, a trip to the NCAA Singles Sweet 16 and All Pac-12 First Team honors … Went 21-14 overall in singles and 11-8 in dual matches … Primarily played from the No. 1 (5-4) and No. 2 (5-4) positions … In doubles, went 16-13 overall and 9-10 … Ewing and Cayetano went 5-0 in doubles and reached a season high ranking of No. 62 as a duo, primarily playing from the No. 1 spot … Playing with Snow Han (10-7, 3-5), reaching a season high ranking of No. 5 … Clinched two matches for the Women of Troy (Hawaii & UCLA) … Ended the season with an ITA Rank of #44, but reached a season high singles rank of #12 on Dec. 8 … Defeated 11 ranked opponents during the 2021-22 season … Named the ITA’s Southwest Region Most Improved Senior … ITF Los Angeles Doubles Champion (Eryn Cayetano) … Competed in ITA Fall Nationals (doubles and singles) … Won doubles flight at Fall Ranked Spotlight (alongside Snow Han)
2020-21 SEASON: In a shortened season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Ewing finished the season with a 15-6 overall record and a 7-2 Pac-12 record… Helped the team to reach the NCAA Round of 16…Concluded the season ranked No. 28 in the nation…Saw action from the No. 1 (6-2), No. 2 (3-0) and No. 3 (6-3) positions…Defeated eight nationally ranked opponents (including three in the Top 20), highlighted by a 6-4, 6-2 victory over NC State’s No. 6 Anna Rogers in the NCAA Team Round of 16 on May 16…Competed in the NCAA Singles Tournament where she lost in the Round of 64 to the No. 1 ranked player in the tournament…Went 12-6 in doubles…Primarily played with partner Clare McKee from the No. 2 position (10-5)…Also partnered with Constance Branstine (0-1) and Naomi Cheong (2-0).
2019-20 SEASON: Salma Ewing played early on in the spring season, but was sidelined due to injury, and then the 2020 spring season was cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic...Ewing went 8-4 in singles and 3-2 in dual matches...Played primarily from the No. 2 position (2-2) and also saw action from the No. 1 position (1-0)...Clinched one match for the Women of Troy versus Long Beach State...Had a season-high singles ranking of No. 34 to open the 2020 spring season...Went 4-2 in doubles and 2-1 in dual matches...Primarily played with Constance Branstine from the No. 2 position (2-1)...Also partnered with Payton Saca (1-0) and Sydney Van Alphen (1-1)...In the fall, competed in the Women of Troy Invitational, ITA Fall Nationals and the ITA Southwest Regionals where she reached the Quarterfinals.

PERSONAL: Salma Ewing was born on August 28, 2000 in Pasadena, CA....Daughter of Reyana and Vincent Ewing....Her mother, Reyana was a tennis player that grew up in apartheid South Africa and came to the United States to play tennis at Georgia State...Lists jambalaya, tacos, and cucumber rolls in soy paper as her favorite foods....Has always wanted to skydive and cliff jump...Hopes to visit Paris, Monaco, and the Netherlands....Aspires to play professional tennis.
