Trio of Trojan Tennis Players Advance to NCAA Individual Championship Quarterfinals

Lily Fairclough and Dani Borruel named ITA Doubles All-Americans
ORLANDO, Fla. - USC's dominant doubles pairing of Lily Fairclough and Dani Borruel earned ITA All-America honors on Thursday afternoon, advancing to the NCAA Doubles Championship Tournament quarterfinals.
USC is the lone school from the Big Ten conference with players competing in the singles and doubles quarterfinals tomorrow.
Junior Fairclough and Borruel battled through two tiebreaks to take the round of 16 match over Iowa State's Stanislava Shulzhenko & Maria de la Paz Alberto - 7-6(2), 7-6 (5). With the win, the pair becomes the first USC doubles pairing to reach the quarterfinals since Maddy Sieg and Eryn Cayetano in 2022.
Tomorrow, the pair will face Yale's Friedman/Ogilvy in the quarterfinals at 10 a.m. PT.
After earning All-America honors yesterday, sophomore Jana Hossam followed it up with a massive round of 16 win to advance to the singles quarterfinals. Hossam won her match in straight sets 6-3, 6-0 as she took down NC State's Mia Slama.
Tomorrow, Hossam will face Arkansas' Carolina Gómez Alonso in the singles quarterfinals at 7 a.m. PT.
In doubles, Hossam and her partner Krisha Mahendran saw their time at the NCAA Championships come to a close after falling in a close three-setter to Virginia's Xu/Genis Salas 6-3, 2-6, 1-0 [10-4].
