High School: Svendsen was a two-time finalist at the 2019 NCHSAA 4A State Championships while prepping at Myers Park High School. He was second in the 200y free (1:39.62) and seventh in the 100y back (51.44) … At the 2019 Speedo Champions Series (Indianapolis), Svendsen was a three-time finalist, touching third in the 200L back (2:02.30), fourth in the 200L free (1:53.91) and seventh in the 100L back (58.28) … As a sophomore, Svendsen was third in the 200y free, and 15th in the 100y back at the 4A NCHSAA State Championships … Two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American
