THIS SEASON: Nick Lavayen enters his second season at USC.
2015: Lavayen scored seven goals as a true freshman... First career goal as a Troan came on Sept. 19 against Redlands... Scored in six games with a two-goal outing against San Jose State on Oct. 4.
HIGH SCHOOL: Lavayen was an all-CIF first team honoree as a senior out of Mater Dei High in Santa Ana... A member of two CIF championship teams... A two-time all-league first team selection... Named to All-CIF third team as a junior and was an all-league second team pick as a sophomore... Played club for Regency.
PERSONAL: Lavayen hopes to major in public relations and pursue a career as a sports radio talk show host... Parents are Cathy and Al... Has one brother, Alex, and two sisters, Stephanie and Caroline... Alex and Stephanie both played water polo at USC... Father played water polo at San Jose State... Says watching USC beat UCLA in the 2012 NCAA Championship game as his most thrilling sports moment... Enjoys surfing and music in his free time... Has always wanted to go cage-diving with sharks...
