Cody Worsham serves as USC’s Senior Associate Athletic Director for Strategic Communications & Brand Advancement, leading the department’s efforts in brand strategy, storytelling, creative content, and strategic communications for all 23 varsity programs. As the primary spokesperson for USC Athletics and Athletic Director Jen Cohen, Worsham plays a critical role in shaping the department’s messaging, engagement strategies, and public positioning. He serves on USC’s executive and senior leadership teams, advising administrators and head coaches on strategic communications and brand advancement. Additionally, Worsham serves as the sport administrator for men’s and women’s tennis. \
Since joining USC, Worsham has played a pivotal role in bolstering the Trojans’ brand during the transition to the Big Ten, helping drive a 62% increase in USC Athletics’ social media value in 2024-25. He has led major communications campaigns for USC’s entry into the Big Ten, the 2024 Olympics, and key fundraising, revenue generation, and fan engagement initiatives. In 2024-25, his team reimagined USC’s PLACE TO BE campaign, driving a 520% increase in owned impressions and a 362% increase in earned reach year over year. Worsham also serves as USC’s primary Big Ten Network contact, managing the department’s collaboration with the conference’s media partner.
Beyond athletics, Worsham served for six months as the Interim Vice President of Marketing & Communication for LSU, overseeing all communication efforts for the flagship institution, including internal and external communications, communications strategy, and media relations. He served on the President's senior cabinet and worked to advance the brand of the entire LSU System under President Tate's Scholarship First Agenda.
A former award-winning sportswriter, Worsham’s journalism background includes lead editorial roles at Tiger Rag and DIG Magazine, and he was recognized by the Louisiana Press Association and Louisiana Sports Writers Association for his excellence in feature writing and sports coverage.
Worsham and his wife, Claire, reside in Hermosa Beach with their two daughters, Aurora (9) and Rose (8).
