Bio
THIS SEASON: Morten Klarskov, a 2016 senior, is among USC's top breaststrokers ever and primed for a big senior year after an All-American junior season. A former USC record holder in the 200y breast, he owns Trojan all-time top 10 times in that and the 100y breast. He is a six-time career Pac-12 finalist.
2015: Klarskov, as a 2015 junior, earned All-American honors while helping USC to sixth in the 200y medley relay at the NCAA Championships. He swam in three individual events, finishing 26th in the 200y breast (1:54.67), 32nd in the 100y breast (53.36) and 45th in the 200y IM (1:45.73) ... Klarskov had a big meet at the 2015 Pac-12s as a three-time finalist, taking sixth in both the 200y IM (1:44.84) and the 100y breast (53.19) and was eighth in the 200y breast (1:55.84) ... He earned 2015 CSCAA Scholar All-America first team and Pac-12 All-Academic second team honors.
2014: Klarskov was a two-time Pac-12 finalist as a 2014 sophomore. For the second year in a row, Klarskov raced in the 200y breast final, taking fourth in 1:55.86. He also debuted as a 100y breast finalist, finishing sixth in 53.62 ... He earned Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention honors.
2013: Klarskov scored twice at the 2013 NCAA Championships as a freshman, finishing 11th in the 100y breast (53.00) and 12th in the 200y breast (1:56.09). His 1:54.64 prelim effort in the 200y breast was a USC school record while his effort in the 100y breast made him the fourth fastest Trojan in that race. He was also 33rd in the 200y IM (1:45.80) ... At the 2013 Pac-12 Championships, Klarskov reached the final of the 200y breast, taking fifth in 1:55.13 (1:54.65 in prelims, 0.01 off his PR). He also won the `B' final of the 100y breast in 53.92 and helped USC's 200y medley relay to fourth ... At the 2012 U.S. Winter Nationals, he was 10th in the 200y breast (1:57.42).
HIGH SCHOOL: Klarskov, who attended Falkonergaarden's Gymnasium & Hf in Frederiksberg, Denmark, owns three Danish national crowns, several Danish Junior National titles, individually and on relays, and has broken more than 30 Danish junior records as well. At the 2011 European Short Course Championships, he reached the semifinals of the 50m breast and competed in the 100m and 200m breast and the 400m IM. He was second in the 200m IM at the 2011 Danish Nationals.
PERSONAL: He was born on Jan. 14, 1992 ... He is majoring in international relations (global business).
