Olympic diving bronze medalist Doerte Lindner, who helped USC to an NCAA team title in 1997 was been named the USC men's and women's diving assistant coach, on September 3, 2024. She enters her second season with the Trojans.
The 2024-25 diving squad took Li to new heights as a record number of Trojans earned spots at the NCAA Championships (four men, one woman). First-year Trojan Moritz Wesemann won USC’s first Big Ten diving title (3-meter) and earned First Team All-Conference honors. Both Wesemann and senior Shangfei Wang finished the season with CSCAA First Team All-America honors. On the women’s side, first-year diver Kate Miller was named to the All-Freshman conference team and earned Second Team CSCAA All-America honors.
Recently, Lindner served as the Co-Head Coach for the Trojan Diving Club, leading one of the U.S.A's most premier elite age-group diving programs. Alongside USC diving head coach Li, Lindner helped teach age-group divers proper techniques while also nurturing mental toughness and self-esteem.
Lindner also has over two decades in banking and accounting experience. In 2015 she founded Lindner Business Management, a company that aimes to empower small business owners through strategic planning, operational efficiency and financial management. Lindner has also been honored twice as an outstanding management leader by City National Bank.
Athletically, the German diver won a bronze medal at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, finishing runner-up in the women's 3-meter springboard event.
As a Trojan (1996-2000), Lindner was an NCAA Champion, four-time All-American diver and won a pair of Pac-10 Conference diving titles in 1998 (1-meter, 3-meter). In 1997, Lindner's two All-American finishes on springboard helped the Women of Troy claim the program's first ever NCAA team title. As a sophomore, Lindner won the team's MVP title (1997).
Earned her bachelor's degree from USC in communications in 2000 and later earned an Accounting Certificate from UCLA in 2016. Prior to her time at USC, Lindner spent two years studying Law at the University of Rostock (Germany).
Lindner was born in 1974 in Rostock, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
