The news of USC President Steven B. Sample's pending retirement has hit home in Heritage Hall, as Sample and Coach Carroll developed a strong friendship through the years.
"What an extraordinary impact he's had in everything he's done at USC," Carroll said today. "It's been great having him such a strong supporter of our program. We'll miss him tremendously."
