USC President Steven B. Sample, who led the university's massive development and growth since 1991, announced today he will retire in August 2010. Read his letter to the Board of Trustees here.
During Sample's tenure, USC won 20 team national championships, including two in football.
The search for the next president will begin immediately, and officials expect to announce the new president by June 1, 2010.
