THIS SEASON: Junyi Tang, a top Chinese amateur with pro experience, joins the Trojans as a 2022 freshman ready to vie for a key role in the USC lineup ... He saw action in a pair of 2021 Fall events, highlighted by his tie for 22nd in the 36-hole Washington County Individual.
CHINA: Tang, who hails from Beijing, has a broad collection of pro tournament and amateur experience, including playing in the prestigious Sina Cup in 2020 … He has played in four PGA Tour China events, most recently finishing third at the 2020 PGA Tour China Qualifying School, earning full exempt status. He was the low amateur at the 2019 Haikou Open (36th), made the cut at the 2018 Zhuhai Open and was the qualifier medalist at the Huangshan Open … He has won the HSBC Junior Golf Championship twice with two other top 3 finishes and has won the Junior Golf Tour of China three times with four other top 3 finishes.
