THIS YEAR: Senior Nicholas Ramey is in his fourth season as a sprinter on the USC track and field team. He ranks sixth on USC's all-time indoor 400m list and second, sixth and seventh on USC's outdoor 4x400m list.
2022: Ramey ran the leadoff leg for the 4x400m relay team which placed second at the NCAA Championships with a time of 2:59.98 on June 10...that time was the second-fastest in school history. He lead off on the relay at the West Prelims which posted a time of 3:02.20 to advance fourth to nationals on May 27...he also placed 26th in the open 400m with a time of 46.62. He placed seventh in the 400m at the Pac-12 Championships with a time of 46.28 on May 15. He ran the first leg for the 4x400m relay which won the Pac-12 title with a time of 3:03.39 on May 15. Indoors, he took second in the 400m with a time of 46.42 at the Pac-12 Invitational on Feb. 26.
2021: Ramey took second in the 400m at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet with a time of 46.65. He took fourth in the 400m in his first Pac-12 Championships with a time of 46.49. He had a PR of 45.93 in the first round of the NCAA West Prelims and finished 16th in the quarterfinals with a time of 46.47. Ramey set his 200m PR with a time of 21.36 (-0.8) to take second at the Beach Invitational. He also ran on USC's 4x400m relay which won the Pac-12 title and finished fourth at the NCAA Championships with a time of 3:02.49, the fifth-fastest time in USC history. He set his indoor 400m PR of 46.39 at the Matador Qualifier, which ranks sixth on USC's all-time list.
2020: Competed in four indoor meets, posting a best time of 46.60 in the 400m at the MLK Invitational. Placed sixth in the 400m at the MPSF Championships with a time of 47.68. He did not compete outdoors before the season was cancelled due to COVID-19.
HIGH SCHOOL: Ramey is a 2019 graduate of Brookwood HS in Atlanta, Ga. He has PRs of 46.20 in the 400m and 21.14w in the 200m. He won the 2019 Georgia HS 7A 400m title with a time of 47.19 and was fourth in the 200m with a time of 21.92 (-2.1). He earned a silver medal as part of USA's 4x400m relay at the 2018 IAAF World U20 Championships. He placed second in the 400m dash at the 2018 New Balance Nationals and was fifth in the event at the USATF Junior Championships
PERSONAL: Nicholas was born on April 30, 2001 in Eden, N.C....His parents are Tuwanda and Albert Ramey and he has two siblings, Nicole and Delano...His hobbies include being outdoors, playing video games and being with friends and family...His favorite actor is Martin Lawrence and his favorite movie is House Party...He lists Kobe Bryant as his sports hero for his mentality and confidence...He is currently an Undeclared major at USC.
