THIS YEAR: Â Senior Eric Allen Jr. is in his fourth season as a sprinter on the USC track and field team. Â He ranks sixth on USC's all-time indoor 200m list and eighth on the Trojan indoor 100m list. Â Also ran on the fourth-fastest USC indoor 4x400m relay.
2021: Â Set a personal best of 10:33 (+2.0) in the 100m at the Aztec Invitational. Â He finished ninth in th event at the Pac-12 Championships with a time of 10.46 (+1.2) and won as part of the 4x100m relay team. The relay team advanced out of the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds in third and finished 10th at the NCAA Championships with a time of 39.65. He had a season-best time of 20.79 (+0.9) Â in the 200m at the Florida Relays and won the event at the Trojan Invitational with a time of 20.99 (+0.6).
2020: Allen had a PR of 6.66 in the 60m dash at the Texas Tech Invitational. Â He had a 60m time of 6.69 to finish fourth at the MPSF Championships. Â Allen ran on the MPSF champion 4x400m relay which won with a time of 3:07.96, eighth on USC's all-time list. He had a season-best time of 20.83 in the 200m at the Matador Qualifier.
2019: Â Concentrated on the 200m race as a freshman, reaching the NCAA semifinals in the event where he placed 21st with a time of 20.89. Â He ran a PR of 20.50 (+1.3) at the NCAA West Prelims and then 20.80 (+1.6) in the quarterfinals to claim the final advancing spot out of the regional. Â He placed fifth in the 200m at the Pac-12 Championships with a time of 21.99 (+0.1) and anchored the 4x100m which placed third with a time of 39.74. He set his 100m PR of 10.37 (+0.8) at the Jim Click Shootout. During the indoor season, he set the USC freshman record in the 200m with a time of 20.63 at the Texas Tech Classic.
HIGH SCHOOL: Â Allen Jr. is a 2018 graduate of Bullis School in Potomac, Md. Â He had an indoor 200m PR of 20.91 at the University of Kentucky High School Invitational, which was the fastest high school time in 2018 and just the seventh high schooler in history to run sub-21 seconds indoors. Â He also ran 32.84 in the indoor 300m which is second all-time by a high school athlete. Â Allen Jr. was named the 2018 Washington Post Indoor Track Athlete of the Year. He has outdoor PRs of 10.43 in the 100m and 20.94 in the 200m during his senior season. Â He helped Bullis win the 2017 IAC Championships by winning the 100m, 200m and 100m hurdles (14.57). Â Allen Jr. also has indoor bests of 6.36 in the 55m and 6.78 in the 60m dashes. Â He was an honor roll student.
PERSONAL:  Eric was born on August 23, 1999 in Philadelphia, Pa…His parents are Antoinette and Eric Allen…He has two brothers Austin and Ashton…His father Eric Allen Sr. played football at Savannah State…Eric’s sports hero is Kobe Bryant because his mentality towards his sport is contagious and the wisdom he shares is captivating and motivates him to work harder than everyone else…His favorite type of food is seafood…His favorite movie is The Dark Knight and his favorite television shows are The Challenge, the Boondocks, Mindhunter and Hell’s Kitchen…His favorite musical artists are Jay Z, Eminem, J Cole, Kendrick Lamar and Logic…Someday would like to go storm chasing in “tornado alley”….Chose USC because the Earth Science Department provides the resources necessary for him to become the best meteorologist possible and the track and field programs is the best in the country…He is majoring in Geoscience at USC.
