Sophia Theriot is a sophomore libero for the Women of Troy… transferred to USC following one season at Marist.
2019 MARIST
As a freshman, Theriot was named to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Rookie Team… four-time MAAC Libero of the Week choice (Oct. 1, Oct. 15, Oct. 22, Oct. 29)… chosen to the South Bay Battle All-Tournament Team… played in 27 matches and appeared in 98 sets… ranked third in the MAAC in digs (4.78 dps) and sixth in total digs (468)… her season total for digs ranked fifth in Marist single-season history… set a single-match career high of 38 digs (vs. Canisius, Oct. 12) to rank second all-time in school history… had 20 matches in double-digit digs and 11 matches over the 20-dig mark… served 21 aces, including a career best three aces against Rider (Sept. 29)… ranked third on the team in assists (94).
HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB VOLLEYBALL
Theriot was a three-year libero letterwinner at La Costa Canyon High School under head coach Rachel Morris; the same high school to produce USC All-Americans Katie Fuller (2009-12), Natalie Hagglund (2010-13), and Brittany Abercrombie (2014-17)… helped her school to the CIF Open Division final… three-time San Diego Union-Tribune All-Academic Team choice and a three-time CIF Scholar-Athlete selection… played four years with Coast Volleyball Club… helped Coast VBC to fifth-place finish at 2019 USA Junior Olympics.
