No. 4 USC Beach Volleyball Grabs Wins Over No. 1 Stanford, No. 8 TCU

The Women of Troy start the Center of Effort Challenge 2-0.
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – No. 4 USC Beach Volleyball (25-6) competed in the first day of the Center of Effort Challenge in San Luis Obispo, taking down No. 1 Stanford and No. 8 TCU. The Women of Troy won both duals 3-2 to go 2-0 on the day. USC is now 2-1 against Stanford and 3-0 against TCU this season.

In the top flight, Kennedy Coakley and Zoey Henson secured a point for the Trojans, defeating Stanford's Kelly Belardi and Avery Jackson in straight sets, 21-17, 21-15. The duo's performance set the tone, giving the Women of Troy the early advantage.
From there, Stanford's Charlotta Bell and Logan Tusher responded by defeating Bella Satterwhite and Kerry Keefe on the third court in straight sets, 21-11, 21-18, to tie up the dual at 1-1.
The 4s saw Kyra Zaengle and Calinda Kok contribute another point for USC as they overcame Indigo Clarke and Clara Stowell 21-18, 21-19.
Madison Goellner and Kaileigh Truslow sealed the victory for USC at the No. 5 spot, defeating Elena Fisher and Chloe Hoffman in straight sets, 21-19, 21-13. After the decision, on Court 2, Ashley Pater and Sarah Wood faced a three-set battle against Stanford's Brooke Rockwell and Ruby Sorra, but ultimately fell 22-20, 14-21, 12-15.

The 5s wrapped up next, adding another point for USC. Madison Goellner and Kaileigh Truslow overcame TCU's Hannah Taylor and Melina Mol in two sets, 21-18, 24-22.
In the 4s, Kyra Zaengle and Calinda Kok faced off against Morgan Williams and Sofia Izuzquiza from TCU, going the distance in a three-set battle. Ultimately, the TCU duo prevailed with a 22-20, 16-21, 15-13 win, capturing the point after a deciding third set.
On Court 2, Bella Satterwhite and Kerry Keefe played a tough match against TCU's Stacy Reeves and Anhelina Khmil. Despite forcing a third set, the USC pair fell 21-19, 14-21, 15-11 as Reeves and Khmil secured the point for TCU to tie up the dual 2-2.
It all came down to the 3s. Ashley Pater and Sarah Wood went to three sets with TCU's Anna Long and Natalie Glenn. This match wouldn't end without a fight, as the second and third sets went into extra points. In the end, Wood and Pater clinched the dual-winning point for USC, taking down TCU 21-16, 22-24, 17-15.
