No. 3 USC Beach Volleyball Topples No. 10 Cal, Oregon On Day 1 of MPSF Midseason Rumble

The Women of Troy have won eight straight matches, all at Merle Norman Stadium.
LOS ANGELES – No. 3 USC Beach Volleyball (12-2) wrapped up the first day of the MPSF Midseason Rumble. The Women of Troy have kept their winning streak alive at Merle Norman Stadium this season as they swept No. 10 Cal and Oregon. They have now won eight straight duals this season, and the program has won 38 straight duals at home.

No. 4 Bella Satterwhite and Kerry Keefe put the first point on the board with a two-set victory over Cal's Mila Vugrincic and Jenna Colligan, securing the win with scores of 21-18, 21-17. The duo set the tone for the rest of the matches with their decisive performance.
Ashley Pater and Kennedy Coakley picked up the next point for the Trojans in a three-set battle in the No. 2 spot. They overcame Cal's Grace Hong and Marilu Pally, rallying from behind after dropping the first set 15-21. They came back to take the next two sets 21-17, 15-12.
Kyra Zaengle and Calinda Kok clinched the dual for the Trojans at the No. 5 spot with a three-set victory over Elle Evers and Mila Yarich from Cal. After dropping the first set 20-22, the pair rebounded by winning the next two sets 21-14, 15-10.
Following the decision, the top flight concluded with Zoey Henson and Sarah Wood defeating Cal's Emma Donley and Portia Sherman in a tight match. After splitting the first two sets 17-21, 21-18, Henson and Wood secured the win 15-12 in the deciding third set. The No. 3 flight also saw a three-set contest, with Alana Embry and Quincy Stephens edging out Gia Fisher and Ava Haughy, 21-17, 18-21, 17-15.

In the No. 2 flight, Ashley Pater and Kennedy Coakley put the first point on the board for the Trojans, defeating Oregon's Daley McClellan and Elsa Snipes in straight sets, 21-8, 21-8. The fourth flight added another point with Kyra Zaengle and Calinda Kok overcoming Hanna Bjornson and Sofia Taylor, 21-15, 21-16.
The No. 5 spot saw Macy Bolyard and Kaileigh Truslow secure a point, besting Natasha George and Katrena Koellner, 21-11, 21-14. Zoey Henson and Sarah Wood followed that up by picking up a win against Liz Rossi and Bella Gamache with scores of 21-11, 21-12.
Alana Embry and Quincy Stephens went the distance in the third spot, clinching the final point in a three-set battle against AJ Slojkowski and Gwen Fife. After splitting the first two sets 21-14, 22-24, Embry and Stephens closed out the match with a 15-12 victory in the deciding third set.
