No. 3 USC Beach Volleyball Splits On Day 2 Of The Texas Invitational

The Women of Troy won against No. 12 LSU and lost to No. 6 Texas to end their time in the Lone Star State.
AUSTIN – No. 3 USC Beach Volleyball (21-4) wrapped up the Texas Invitational on Saturday, March 28, splitting today's duals with a 5-0 win over No. 12 LSU and a 2-3 loss to No. 6 Texas. With today's results, the Women of Troy finish the Texas Invitational 3-1. USC had two pairs win all four of their matches this weekend: No. 2 Zoey Henson and Sarah Wood, and No. 4 Bella Satterwhite and Kerry Keefe.
MATCH #24: No. 3 USC def. No. 12 LSU, 5-0
RECORDS: USC (21-3), LSU (13-13)
No. 4 Bella Satterwhite and Kerry Keefe put the first point on the board for USC, winning in straight sets over LSU's Gracey Campbell and Ryan Lambert. They finished that match with scores of 21-18 and 25-23.
From there, the fifth flight went the distance as Kyra Zaengle and Calinda Kok overcame Kate Baker and Emily Hellmuth in a three-set battle. After splitting the first two sets 21-19, 19-21, Zaengle and Kok secured the match with a 15-13 win in the deciding third set.
In the No. 2 spot, Zoey Henson and Sarah Wood clinched the dual for USC, defeating Skylar Martin and Tatum Finlason 21-12, 21-14.
After the decision, Alana Embry and Quincy Stephens, playing in the No. 3 flight, earned a convincing 21-8, 21-16 win over Aubrey O'Gorman and Bella Lagemann. The top flight featuring Ashley Pater and Kennedy Coakley completed the sweep by defeating Julia Sprecher and Kenzey McGatlin 21-14, 21-14.

The Women of Troy secured the first set 21-19, dropped the second 16-21, and rallied to win the deciding third set 15-12.
The 5s also went the distance as Kyra Zaengle and Calinda Kok fought hard against Texas' Savannah Thomas and Macey Butler. After splitting the first two sets, 22-20 and 18-21, Zaengle and Kok dropped the third set 15-17 to tie up the dual at 1-1.
