COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The No. 12 USC baseball team jumped out to an early lead, but had to hold on late on the road at Maryland, picking up its 25^th win of the season with an 11-10 victory over the Terrapins.

USC moves to 25-2 overall on the season and 9-1 in Big Ten play with the win, while Maryland falls to 11-14, 1-6.

The Trojans scored four runs in the first and six in the third, taking an 11-2 advantage into the fifth inning before Maryland started chipping away at the lead. The Terrapins scored two in the bottom of the fifth and then put up back-to-back three-run innings in the seventh and eighth to cut it to a one-run game.

Adam Troy took the mound with the bases loaded and two outs in the eighth, and after giving up a run on a wild pitch to make it 11-10, Troy settled in and got the final four outs for his eighth save of the season. He would get a lineout to center to end the eighth, then retired the side in order in the ninth to slam the door shut.

Augie Lopez and Maximo Martinez led the way offensively, with Lopez driving in two runs on three hits, and Martinez scoring three times on two hits, including a solo home run. Lopez singled in runs in the first and third innings, and had a third single in the fifth. Martinez's solo homer sparked USC's six-run third inning, and he scored in both the first and fourth innings.
