USC Track and Field Hosts Ron and Sharlene Allice Trojan Invite to Open Outdoor Season

The 2025 men's national champions and women's national runner-up return nine First Team All-American honorees
LOS ANGELES – The USC track and field team will open its outdoor run on home turf at the Ron and Sharlene Allice Trojan Invite on Friday and Saturday. The 11 All-American honorees from the 2026 indoor season are expected to be back in action in sprints and relay events.
SCOUTING THE FIELD
Competing teams include Arizona State University, BYU, Central Arizona College, CSUN, Long Beach State, Utah, and Wisconsin.
A total of 16 All-Americans will be attending across all visiting schools. Utah leads the group with seven All-Americans, highlighting a particularly strong indoor season for the program. BYU follows with six All-Americans, including one national champion, and standout athlete Jane Hedengren, who was named the USTFCCCA Women's Track Athlete of the Year. Arizona and Wisconsin will each have one All-American in attendance. Additionally, Central Arizona brings a national title holder in the 200m from the NJCAA level.
SCHEDULE
The Trojan Invite will kick off with field events on Friday, March 27 in Wilmington, Calif. at the Colich Throws Center with men's and women's discus and hammer throw at 11 a.m.
Running events will kick off the following day at Allyson Felix Field at Loker Track Stadium at 11 a.m. Events include steeplechase, relays, hurdles, distance, long sprints and more. On the field side, Saturday brings jumps and throws to Felix Field with long jump, pole vault, shot put, javelin, triple jump and high jump.
LAST TIME OUT
At the NCAA Indoor Championships, Garrett Kaalund led USC with a historic 200m title in a record-breaking 19.95, the first sub-20 indoor collegiate time ever and an NCAA and American record.
Madison Whyte added to the Trojans' success with a runner-up finish in the 400m in a personal-best 50.68, while Dajaz DeFrand and Brianna Selby earned First Team All-American honors in the 60m.
2025 OUTDOOR SEASON
Last outdoor season, the Trojans delivered standout performances on both the men's and women's sides. At the Big Ten Outdoor Championships, the women claimed the team title behind a dominant showing from Madison Whyte, who won the 200m and 400m and anchored the meet-clinching 4x400m relay. The men finished fourth, highlighted by individual titles from William Jones in the 400m and Yougendy Mauricette in the 400m hurdles.
At the NCAA Outdoor Championships, the women placed second overall, securing national titles in the 100m and the 4x400m relay. The men secured the NCAA team championship with 41 total points, capping off an exceptional season for both programs.
