Park's Win Helps No. 2 USC Women’s Golf Claim the Alice and John Wallace Women’s Golf Classic Title
February 16, 2026 | Women's Golf
Catherine Park picked up her fifth collegiate win with a three-round score of 202 (-11).
PALM DESERT, Calif. — Sparked by a stellar finish from individual champion Catherine Park, the No. 2 USC women's golf team won the Alice and John Wallace Women's Golf Classic, held at Monterey Country Club in Palm Desert, Calif. on Monday, Feb. 16.
USC put together one of its best collective efforts in the win. Under overcast skies and late rain on the par-71, 6,108-yard course, the Trojans won the tournament with a three-round score of 835 (-17) and were 26 strokes ahead of runner-up Eastern Michigan, which is tied for the fourth-largest margin of victory in program history. The win was USC's second of the year and the 29th win under head coach Justin Silverstein.
Winning the fifth tournament of her collegiate career, Park saved her best round for last, shooting a 65 (-6) to win the tournament with a three-round score of 202 (-11). She had five birdies on the front side of her final round and only recorded two bogeys on Nos. 10 and 11. Yet the senior bounced back with three birdies from that point forward and capped off her win with a five-foot birdie putt on the par-4 No. 18 to seal the win.
This result was an improvement over Park's runner-up finish in last year's tournament, at which she fired a 203 (-10). Her 202 is tied for the second-best round in program history and just one stroke off tying her school record of 201. Additionally, her three-round score of 202 was one stroke shy of tying the course record set by Oregon's Suvichaya Vinijchaitham at last year's tournament. Park's five career wins are tied for second-most all time and one away from tying Annie Park's USC career-leading six wins.
Sophomore Kylie Chong placed third with a three-round score of 209 (-4), which is the second-best tournament of her collegiate career. She fired a 70 (-1) on Monday for her second round below par of the tournament. Chong had three birdies on the front side — including two on her first three holes — and just one bogey on the No. 5. She finished the back side with one birdie on the par-4 No. 12 and two bogeys.
Fellow sophomore Jasmine Koo also finished in the top 10 with a three-round score of 214 (+1), which was good for eighth place. Firing a 74 (+3) in the final round, Koo ran into some trouble on the front side with a double-bogey on No. 5 and a bogey on No. 8, but lowered her score with a birdie on the par-3 No. 13. She finished with three bogeys and one double-bogey.
Sophomore Elise Lee moved up into a tie for 14th place by firing a 73 (+2) in the final round. Her final round had one birdie on the par-5 No. 2, then one bogey and one double bogey to give her a three-round score of 219 (+6).
Competing as an individual, freshman Sarah Hammett wrapped up her tournament by tying for 21st place with a three-round score of 221 (+8). She finished the tournament with a 77 (+6) in the final round.
As USC's other player competing as an individual, Chloe Kim finished her second collegiate tournament in a tie for 32nd with a three-round score of 223 (+10). She fired a 75 (+4) in the final round, which featured four bogeys and no birdies.
GCU's Alexis Vakasiuola was the runner-up with a three-round score of 207 (-6). Eastern Michigan (861, +9), No, 11 UCLA (870, +18), California (874, +22) and No. 10 Vanderbilt (876, +22) rounded out the top five teams.
