February 15, 2026 | Women's Golf
Four Trojans are in the top 10 and USC leads the field by 24 strokes.
PALM DESERT — The No. 2 USC women's golf team maintained its 24-stroke lead over the field with a 284 (E) in the second round of the Alice and John Wallace Women's Golf Classic, held at Monterey Country Club in Palm Desert, Calif. on Sunday, Feb. 15.
USC is still the only school under par through two rounds of the par-71, 6,180-yard course. They have a two-round score of 553 (-15), while UCLA (+9, 577), Eastern Michigan (+11, 579), Vanderbilt (+13, 581) and the host school Long Beach State (+15, 583) round out the top five teams.
Three Trojans are in the top five while four are in the top 10; the only other school with multiple players currently in the top 10 is Eastern Michigan, which has two.
Senior Catherine Park moved into first place by firing a 68 (-3) in the second round. Her round had no bogeys and three birdies, which were tied for the second-most on the team on Sunday. The only Trojan with two rounds below par, Park leads the field with a two-round score of 137 (-5).
Sophomore Kylie Chong held steady in second place after firing a 72 (+1) in the second round. Despite having three birdies in her second round, five bogeys pushed her score over par. Her two-round score of 139 (-3) is two strokes behind Park heading into the final round.
Fellow sophomore Jasmine Koo finished the second round in a three-way tie for third place with a two-round score of 140 (-2). Koo found trouble on the front side with six bogeys before she had her lone birdie of the day on the par-4 No. 11 to finish with a 76 (+5).
Junior Bailey Shoemaker fired a 72 (+1) in the second round and maintained her spot in the top-10 with a two-round score of 141 (-1), which is good for sixth place. Shoemaker found trouble with three bogeys on the front side before bouncing back with birdies on Nos. 10 and 14 on the back side to improve her score.
Competing as an individual, freshman Sarah Hammett was USC's biggest mover on Sunday, as she fired a collegiate-best 69 (-2) to move into a three-way tie for 11th. Hammett kicked off her second round with a birdie on the par-4 No. 16, but had two bogeys on the front nine. She recovered with birdies on Nos. 8, 11 and 13 to finish with a team-high four birdies on the day. This was her first round in the 60s of her collegiate career. Hammett's two-round score of 144 (+2) is one stroke away from cracking the top 10.
Elise Lee moved up nine places with a 72 (+1) in the second round. Her two-round score of 146 (+4) is in a four-way tie for 18th place. Like Hammett, she had four birdies on Sunday, but five bogeys pushed her score over par.
Freshman Chloe Kim also moved up nine places on Sunday by tying her collegiate-best round with a 73 (+2). Kim had her lone birdie on the par-4 No. 10 and three bogeys on the day. Her two-round score of 148 (+6) is in a seven-way tie for 30th.
Tomorrow's final round will begin with an 8:00 a.m. PT shotgun start. A link to live results can be found on the women's golf team's schedule page on usctrojans.com.
