USC’s Ava Stryker and EJ Hourigan Sweep MPSF Weekly Awards

This marks the first sweep of MPSF honors for any program this season.
The Trojans earned their first MPSF weekly awards of the season with a sweep of the Player of the Week and Newcomer of the Week honors.
Ava Stryker was named the MPSF Player of the Week following a strong performance in the win over No. 7 Long Beach State. Stryker led the scoring for the Trojans in their 16-8 victory. The junior went four-for-six and added an assist for a five point performance. Stryker also grabbed two steals to help USC to its ninth win of the season.
EJ Hourigan picked up Newcomer of the Week honors, the first conference accolades of her career. Hourigan recorded a goal and an assist in USC's win over No. 7 LBSU. Hourigan also added a drawn exclusion to help the Trojans record their sixth ranked victory of the season.
Stryker and Hourigan now turn their attention to the annual Barbara Kalbus Invitational hosted by UC Irvine. The tournament will kick off on Feb. 13 and a winner will be crowned at the end of the weekend on Feb. 15. The Women of Troy will have their first matchup of the contest at 4:30 p.m. on Friday where they will once again face Long Beach State.
