USC Track and Field Jumps Squad Travels East for DeLoss Dodds Invite

Eight Trojans will compete across two days at Kansas State
MANHATTAN, Kan. – Building off a solid performance at the Stan Scott Invite hosted by Texas Tech, the USC track and field team will send the jumps squad to Kansas State for the DeLoss Dodds Invite on Friday and Saturday.
Eight Trojans are expected to compete for USC across four field events. Competition begins Friday with Avery Lewis and Alyssa Hope in the women's long jump and Jackson Norris and Cordial Vann in the men's long jump at 4:30 p.m. CT. Their competition will be followed by Elias Gerald in the men's high jump at 4:45 p.m CT. Action resumes Saturday with Jada Foreman, Jada Gatlin and Lauren Reed competing in the women's triple jump at 2:15 p.m. CT.
LAST TIME OUT
At the Stan Scott Invite, the USC track and field team took home eight wins, including men's and women's shot put, women's 60m hurdles, men's and women's 60m, men's and women's 800m and men's 4x400 relay. In the men's 60m, the Trojans swept the top three finishes, with Eddie Nketia leading the pack and setting a personal record of 6.58, tying 10th fastest time in the NCAA for the season.
Another standout performance came from Asjah Atkinson, who won the women's 60m hurdles with a personal record time of 8.18. The Trojans rounded out the day with the men's 4x400 relay, where Jack Stadlman, William Jones, Garrett Kaalund and Jaelen Knox took first place with a time of 3:02.55, the fastest time in the NCAA for the event this season.
LAST SEASON
At the NCAA Indoor Championships, the men's team won the national title for the first time since the 1972 season, winning as a team with no event champions. The women's team placed third for the first time since their second-place finish in 2019. Dajaz DeFrand led the women, winning the women's 60m dash title with a PR and facility-record time of 7.09.
Indoor All-Americans from the 2025 season returning for the 2026 season include Dajaz DeFrand, Elias Gerald, William Jones, Garrett Kaalund, Christine M. Mallard, JC Stevenson, Madison Whyte, Jacob Andrews and Nonah Waldron.
At the Big Ten Indoor Championships, the men placed second while the women's team came in third. Returners Dajaz DeFrand (60m), JC Stevenson (60m) and William Jones (400m) each won the Big Ten title for their respective events.
