USC will face off against four top-25 teams this week at North Ranch Country Club
LOS ANGELES — Competing in its first stroke play tournament of the spring, the No. 24 USC men's golf team will head to North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village, Calif. for the Southwestern Invitational. The three-round invitational will feature a 13-team field competing from Jan. 26-28.
The field for this year's Southwestern Invitational includes five top-25 teams: the host team No. 15 Pepperdine, No. 17 New Mexico, No. 19 Utah, No. 21 UCLA and No. 24 USC. This will be the first time the Southwestern Invitational will take place at North Ranch Country Club since 2023-24, when the Trojans tied for 12th. Last year at Sherwood Country Club, the Trojans tied for sixth, led by Antonio Safa, who tied for 13th place.
Last week, USC opened its spring season at the Copper Cup, where the Trojans faced No. 21 UCLA and No. 7 Arizona State in two match play competitions. Sophomore Jaden Dumdumaya led the team with two individual wins — including one over No. 20 Michael Mjaaseth of Arizona State.

HEAR FROM THE LINEUP:
Senior Antonio Safa: "We've shown what we're capable of. We had a great fall, and the guys and I need to keep working hard and keep improving. Individually, I want to stick to my process every shot and every round to earn a good result."
Sophomore Jaden Dumdumaya: "Winning two Copper Cup matches meant a lot to me, knowing that I beat two players who were highly ranked. It gave me positive reinforcement that my hard work is paying off. I learned a lot from that event. I was able to fix the mistakes I made early in the week and make better decisions."
Sophomore Jack Buchanan: "It's definitely a tighter course — not as long. We know what we're getting ourselves into. There are a lot of long irons off tees and we need to make sure to keep it in the fairway. This week, we've been working on our long iron game and chipping and putting. It'll be a test this week around quick and firm greens at North Ranch CC."
Junior Nicolas Dominguez: "I'm going to keep working on what I've been working on over the last couple of months, which is my tee shots and short game. On the mental side I want to keep myself in it by playing the shot at hand, one shot at a time, and stay focused for all three days."
Grad Senior Luke Stock: "Finishing inside the top 10 individually is a good goal, and as a team, we will be competing for a top 3 finish. We know we're good enough, so we'll need to do our jobs."
