Abigail Mullen posted a double-double with 11 kills and 15 digs in a three-set win over LSU
LOS ANGELES – The 19th-ranked USC women's volleyball team (8-1) swept LSU (6-4) in straight sets (25-19, 25-21, 25-16) at Galen Center on Friday, Sept. 19, for the Trojans' third straight victory.

- Fr. OPP Abigail Mullen recorded her third double-double with 11 kills (2e, 30att) on .300 hitting with a season-high tying 15 digs. She also had two blocks to finish with 12.0 points.
- RS So. OH London Wijay scored 10 kills (1e, 22att) and hit .409 to go with eight digs and a block.
- Sr. MB Rylie McGinest racked up nine kills (1e, 12att) to hit .667 and had four blocks (one solo).
- Fr. S Reese Messer handed out 40 assists and had 10 digs for her third double-double and added four blocks, two kills, and a service ace to finish with 5.0 points.
- RS So. MB Leah Ford had nine kills (0e) on 15 attacks for .600 hitting and had three blocks and a dig.
- RS Fr. OH Brooklyn Tealer had nine kills to go with three blocks (two solos).
- Fr. LIB Taylor Deckert logged 12 digs to go with five assists.
- Sr. DS Gala Trubint totaled five digs and had two assists and two service aces.
- For the Tigers, Jurnee Robinson led with 11 kills and had six digs. Tireh Smith had six kills and two digs. Nia Washington also had six kills and seven digs to go with a block and three service aces.
- The Trojans hit .310 with 50 kills (14e) on 116 attacks over LSU's .110 (28k, 16e) on 110 swings. USC had more assists (47-26) and digs (56-43) and more blocks (10.0-5.0).
- Messer delivered 14 assists to power USC to a .326 hitting performance and a 25-19 win in the opening frame. McGinest collected five kills while Mullen, Tealer, and Wijay each picked up four to help the Trojans total 20 (5e) on 46 swings. Mullen had six digs and Trubint logged four to help hold LSU to .111 hitting with eight kills (4e) on 36 attacks.
- The Trojans hit .257 with another balanced attack in set two. Messer put up 13 assists and got four kills from Mullen as USC went on top, 2-0, with a 25-21 win. Wijay had three kills and Ford added three. Mullen and Deckert picked up five digs apiece to lead a Trojan floor defense that totaled 17 digs over LSU's 12. Despite trailing for much of the set, the Tigers went ahead, 18-17, on a 4-0 run with three straight aces. USC responded with three straight blocks to take a 20-18 lead and never trailed again. The Trojans posted 6.5 blocks in the second set alone.
- USC scored the first four points of the third and was never threatened en route to a 25-16 win and the sweep. The Trojans hit .343 with 15 kills (3e) on 35 attempts to out-do the LSU attack's .108 hitting rate (10k, 6e, 37att). Ford had four kills. Wijay, Tealer, and Mullen added three apiece. On the other side of the net, Robinson led with five kills.
- The Trojans close out the weekend with a match against California (3-5) on Sunday (Sept. 21). USC and Cal renew the old Pac-12 rivalry at 2 p.m. PT and will be shown live nationally on Big Ten Network.
- USC improved to 4-1 all-time against LSU.
- The Trojans improved to 6-0 at home this season and move to 222-60 all-time at Galen Center.
- The Women of Troy logged their fourth sweep of the season; 625th all-time in program history.
- USC reached double-digit blocks (10.0) for the fifth time. The Trojans had double-digit blocks 20 times in 2024.Â
