April 25, 2025 | Men's Tennis
COLUMBUS, Ohio – USC men's tennis (14-10) fell in the Big Ten Tournament Quarterfinals to Michigan State (16-8), 4-2, on Friday, Apr. 25 at the Ty Tucker Tennis Center.
The Trojans gathered a pair of singles victories, but that wouldn't be enough as the Spartans won the doubles point and took a trio of singles wins.
In doubles, USC would go down in succession as it lost on courts No. 1 and 2.
In singles play, the Trojans would earn two victories as No. 17-ranked Peter Makk defeated No. 39 Aristotelis Thanos 6-4, 6-2. Makk would complete his season sweep on the Spartan, as he bested him 6-2, 6-3 last time up. The other victory came from freshman Nathan Trouve. Trouve completed an impressive come-from-behind win as he went down 3-6 in the first, before winning the next two 6-1, 6-4. However, USC dropped the matchup due to losses on courts No. 3, 4 and 6.
USC will await its fate on the remainder of the postseason as the NCAA Selection Show is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. PST on Monday, Apr. 28, and will be streamed live on the NCAA's website.
